EVENT FORMAT
EVENT FORMAT
Event formats will vary based on the number of entries to maximize racing in a single day. Most events will feature two different racing tracks. Depending on the format chosen, we’ll either qualify or practice, race, change the track, and repeat.
The LMT Minis and Mini Mods will run in full their bracket & freestyle before the larger truck classes — essentially as its own event. LMT Minis will practice, race, change track, race again, then freestyle. After that, Pro-Mod, 2WD, and Retro classes will compete, finishing with freestyle.
Event Formats:
-
Practice → Random Seed → Race (most events)
-
Practice → Qualify Each Lane → Race (for large event)
-
Practice → Round Robin (if class is small)
A loser's bracket may be run with formats 1 or 2, depending on turnout, to provide additional racing opportunities.
Entries:
-
Drivers may enter up to 2 trucks per class.
Qualifying:
-
If qualifying is used, drivers make timed passes on both lanes. Best time of the two is used for seeding.
-
Drivers with no successful qualifying time (DQ/DNF both lanes) will be seeded at the bottom (randomized if multiple).
FREESTYLE FORMAT
Freestyle has two classes:
-
LMT Mini
-
Pro-Mod
Rules:
-
Only trucks that competed in racing may enter freestyle.
-
1 truck per class, per driver. No truck-sharing.
-
60-second solo run.
-
Rollovers
-
LMT Mini: Unlimited rollovers allowed. Do what you can in 60 seconds.
-
Pro-Mod: One rollover allowed. Second rollover ends the run. A rollover is defined as loss of motion while upside down. Officials make rollover calls.
-
-
Trucks must stay on course; leaving the course = DQ (no points). This is for safety of racers and spectators. Don't jump out of the course.
RACING FORMAT
Bracket Racing (Elimination)
-
Drivers are seeded via qualifying or random draw.
-
Heads-up elimination races continue until a winner is determined.
-
Lane choice:
-
Qualifying used: Higher seed gets lane choice.
-
Random draw: Driver on top of bracket gets lane choice.
-
-
Rollovers:
-
If a truck rolls and can’t recover = DNF.
-
If both trucks roll or DQ = race is re-run.
-

PENALTIES
-
DNF (Did Not Finish): Truck breaks or rolls over and cannot continue.
-
DQ (Disqualification):
-
Crosses into other lane with 3+ tires.
-
Any contact with another truck while in wrong lane.
-
Contact with timing system.
-
Failure to be ready within 60 seconds of being called for a fix/battery swap.
-
-
+2 Seconds:
-
failure to put 2 front tires on a ramp, or obstacle (or two rear if front wheels are off the ground).
-
Hit corner obstacle
-
-
+4 Seconds:
-
Completely misses jump/obstacle.
-
Cut completely inside a corner.
-
SERIES POINTS
Racing Series
-
Points follow the truck chassis — no swapping to a different model.
-
Chassis replacements must be same model if damaged.
-
-
Series Structure
-
6 Regular Season Races
-
Best 4 finishes count toward the Championship. Drivers drop their 2 lowest race scores and the highest remains score wins.
-
-
Points Structures
-
Participation
-
5 Participation points awarded to every driver who competes in the event.
-
Bracket Wins
-
10 points for each round won in the winner’s bracket
-
5 points awarded for each round won in the loser’s bracket
Example: If a driver wins 1 round in the Winner’s Bracket (10) and 3 in the Loser’s Bracket (5 + 5 + 5) before losing and being out, they’d have 25 points.
-
-
-
Finals Round Points - this gets a bit tricky
-
10 points awarded if the winner is in the winner’s bracket and wins undefeated.
-
If the Losers Bracket driver wins the first Finals Round, they get 5 points for winning from the Losers Bracket. At this point whoever wins the next race will receive 5 points for wining as they are both now competing from the Loser’s Bracket. This keeps the Final race from being worth more than 10 points total.
-
-
Event Bonus Points
-
10 bonus points to 1st place
-
5 bonus points to 2nd place
-
-
Tie-Breaker - in the event of a tie, we will choose the driver with most event wins. If that is a tie, we will choose by the driver with the most Winners Bracket round wins. If still a tie, we will choose who won more head to head. If they are still tied after all 3 of those options, we’ll go by placement at the WMRCMT World Finals event.
-
First choice: Driver Most Event Wins
-
Second Option: Monster Winners Bracket Round Wins
-
Third option: Most Head-to-Head wins
-
Final Option: If they are tied in a 3 options, we will go by who places higher in the WMRCMT World Finals Event.
-
-
WMRCMT World Finals - Trophy Race & Freestyle
-
Final race of our season, but is not a points race.
-
This is a one shot race to win a trophy by besting the rest of the pack on this day. Anyone is welcome to come compete for the trophies.
-
It will also serve as our ceremony for handing out our point series trophies.
-
-

FREESTYLE SERIES
-
3 judges score each run 1–10 = up to 30 points per event.
-
Event winner receives +3 bonus points.
-
Lowest 2 scores dropped.
-
Freestyle points follow the driver, not the truck.
In the event of a tie, we’ll go by who had the individual highest scoring run. If that’s a tie, then we’ll go by their next highest scores, until one stands out over the other.

MORE TO COME
The classes we have are limited because we are just getting started and want to grow the main Pro-mod and Retro classes before we continue to add more. 2WD Monsters and the Mini classes were added because they are affordable ways for people to get started. Unfortunately their aren't a lot of off-the-shelf options for other classes at the moment, so it takes time to build the classes.

Gearing: Gearing is limited to maintain speeds that replicate the era both in 1:1 and in the Clod Buster when it came out. We are willing to work with first time drivers with us or people who may be in from out of town by having the driver throttle limit on their controller to reduce speed. This is done at the race director’s discretion and is done to keep the integrity and intent of the class.

Axis Chassis w/ Axial Trans: TBD
